The Darksaber was an ancient and unique black-bladed lightsaber created by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian ever inducted into the Jedi Order, prior to 1032 BBY. The weapon was kept in the Jedi Temple after Vizsla's passing, but members of House Vizsla stole the saber in a conflict with the Jedi during the fall of the Old Republic. The darksaber was passed down, generation to generation, by the ancestors of Pre Vizsla, who held onto the weapon even after the pacifist ideals of the New Mandalorians replaced the warrior ways of Mandalore.

It is much respected by the Mandalorians as a symbol for the leadership of House Vizsla and later Death Watch. The darksaber had a crystal which served as a conduit for Force energy. The wielder's thoughts and actions could guide the blade's power, with the blade often producing an electrical effect in response to a heightened emotional state. The darksaber was also capable of parrying lightsaber blades. According to Mandalorian custom, one could only obtain the Darksaber by defeating the previous owner in combat.

The last known Mandalorian to own the blade was Pre Vizsla, the leader of Death Watch during the Clone Wars. He used the blade during his conflicts with the New Mandalorians, including his successful coup of Mandalore. After the coup, Darth Maul killed Vizsla and took the Darksaber as his own, becoming the leader of Death Watch. Maul's old master, Darth Sidious, soon arrived on Mandalore to confront his former apprentice, and Maul used the darksaber against him. Maul was bested in combat and taken prisoner to the Separatist prison, the Spire, on Stygeon Prime.
Maul was soon rescued from the Spire at the behest of Prime Minister Almec, whom Maul had chosen as the public leader of Mandalore. After being freed, Maul returned to Zanbar, the location of a Death Watch camp, and was given back the darksaber, which had been recovered from the Sundari Royal Palace, the site of Maul's duel with Sidious. Shortly after his return, Zanbar was attacked by the Separatist Droid Army, led by General Grievous, and Maul made use of the darksaber against the cyborg general. Maul continued to use the darksaber in several subsequent battles, such as the battle on Ord Mantell, the assault on Vizsla Keep 09, and the second battle of Dathomir.

During the Age of the Empire, the Mandalorian weapons expert and rebel Sabine Wren retrieved the darksaber from the Nightsister lair on Dathomir. At the urging of Fenn Rau and her fellow Spectres, Sabine agreed to undergo training with the darksaber under the tutelage of Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus. Later, Sabine brought the darksaber with her and her rebel companions during a mission to Krownest to seek her family's support for the rebellion. Sabine became the rightful wielder of the darksaber after defeating Viceroy Gar Saxon in a duel.

In the days of the Old Republic, the darksaber was kept at the Jedi Temple after the passing of its creator Tarre Vizsla - the first Mandalorian ever inducted into the Jedi Order. However, it was taken by Mandalorians of House Vizsla who raided the Jedi Temple during the Old Republic's fall in 1032 BBY. Descendants of House Vizsla used it to kill many Jedi and rule all of Mandalore for many years.

I heard from some buyers that the hilt feels kinda loose and wonky? Is this the case? I’d love to get one but I don’t want to spend this much money on a Saber which’s hilt isn’t sturdy

I have combat-grade blades from Ultrasabers and Saberforge because I like getting into full contact dueling with my Star Wars buddies, and I want to know before I consider buying this blade, will it hold its own in a duel against a heavy grade blade from Ultrasabers and/or Saberforge? I just want to know that if I buy it, I can use it for shows and stunt duels.

Why do you do to activate the foc without hit on the saber at 1:53 ?

Does the blade sit tight when it's all bolted up? I'm asking this question because I've seen many people in different forums saying that even though they end up tightening all the screws that are supposed to keep the blade in place with the hilt, the blade pretty much wobbles even though they've tightened them as much as they could. I hope you can reply back with some info as soon as you can because I'm still kind of hesitant on buying on if it ends up doing that 🥺

Is that just a quirk with your saber? That clash is r e a l l y sensitive. Because another video I saw on this saber had one with really low sensitivity.

I just got this and I'm a bit concerned about the section where the two halves connect to fit the hand guard. It's pretty wobbly and I worry about the possibility of breaking if used in full contact dueling.
