My first trip was today. Double arch was great but even the non-arch shots are incredible. One of the coolest places I've ever seen. It was 104 today!

I and a friend visited Arches NP on Oct 5, 2024. This park is wonderful with many trails to hike and beautiful scenes to view and take picture. we began to hike to Delicate Arch at 5 pm. we are beginning hikers, but the hike up was doable. We made the major mistake of not bringing strong flash lights. We thought that our phone flash light would provide enough light. We stayed and enjoyed the sunset at Delicate Arch. It was 9 pm when we decided to hike back. It was totally dark by then, and the trail became invisible and much more dangerous. The phone light was weak and did not provide enough light further than 3 ft. We were lost and fumbling around. Fortunately, two wonderful hikers, Lexi and Nate from Salt Lake City, came to our rescue. They lent us a flash light and led us down to the parking lot. They even gave us the flash light as a present so that we could walk to our car. Thank you Lexi and Nate!

The easiest way to beat the crowds is get in the park early (before 6 AM at least). Sunrise is a great time to be in the park, parking will be easier, and photography will be easier. Go early, see the sights, leave for lunch, and come back around sundown if you can. It's what we did the first time we visited and it worked out pretty well. We literally had Double Arch to ourselves in the morning for about an hour before anyone else showed up.

I live 2 hours from Mt Rainier. Your video was super helpful. So many trails and camping WITHOUT not having to have a reservation. Just thought I’d let you know. 😊

Love weather above 100F and prefer camping out on BLM land out in the middle of nowhere (less noise from inconsiderate peoples' car music systems).
