I just got back into poker a couple of months ago. I decided to get back to basics and not get fancy after watching your videos. I stayed true to these principles tonight. I bought in for $400 at a 1/2 live game and cashed out $1030 in just over 4 hours. I did hit a lot of flops, but I also folded AK twice when the board was dry and there was a bet and a raise on the flop. I also value bet A LOT more on the river than I used to. I was always afraid of the suck out. Thank you Nathan!

You should make a video where you actually spend an hour using this strategy so we can see the results.

Playing very tight in low stakes cash games definitely ensures you come out on top in the long run ... with one nasty caveat. When you are playing few hands, it becomes tough to overcome the rake. I think a general TAG strategy needs to be augmented with a willingness to play a much wider range in late position against players you observe to be loose calling stations.

so i watched about 10 of his videos and used the advice on parts of my game that was lacking. Got 1st in a $250 deep stack, last night.

Best video, true. Guaranteed to win long-term.
I've tried and I still do only life poker 1/2, 1/3, 2/5.
Works 100% all the time. If players noticed I played to strong of range and I don't get action, I just change table or casino. I don't play online a lot, I don't have experience online.

Most people in my player pool are there to gamble. They play almost every other hand and there are usually 3-5 people going to the flop. It’s hard because with so many people just wanting to gamble and see a hand, someone is bound to hit the board, and they do. Then they don’t go away no matter what you bet. I lost top pair/top kicker to a guy who played 2-4 off suit and flopped a boat.

my biggest issue is never believing they have it and calling the raise lol

Never played in a casino except a few games online 15 years ago. Ran into this video before I went to play with colleagues. Stuck to this strategy and won the tournament by splitting the pot with the other last guy on the table. Thank you!

I think in your "only play these cards" section, you're leaving out suited aces, which I would absolutely include in my range, especially from the BTN and cut off

Hey Nathan. Really learning a ton from you on this channel. Question: what's the best way to track live game hands and analyze them? Know I can take notes on my phone or in a notebook at the table, but that looks really wonky at a friendly home game. Or should I care? Appreciate the help.

Safe is an acronym I invented. It stands for see a flop every time. I have been playing the cards you said for years. Players still call with stupid hands sometimes good hands and still catch

Does this apply to live daily tourneys????

Two small questions. First in low stakes a lot of players just call the blinds. What to do when I am in BB or SB, nobody raises and I do not have a good hand? Pass or Check(cover the rest of BB? Second, in low stakes tournaments there is someone who goes All In from the first hand with almost any hand and most of the times one or more players will call. If I have a strong hand, what is the proper action? Thanks.

I play low stakes and that range is super nitty. Maybe for a beginner but regs play advanced and pound posistion

I started showing a real profit after taking on this TAG strategy. Let everybody else play their raggity ass hands and then make them pay mightily to chase their draws. When they push back….just fold, then go back to hammering them next hand.

I enjoy your videos Nate, and I find myself name dropping you to players who are motivated to learn at $1\$3 NLH. That being said, I'd like to ask you about this empty room that you record from. Is this an air bnb that you stay at, or an extra room in your pad? Thanks.

I beat this game consistently for over 17 years now in low and mid stakes tournaments. This approach will work at the lower stakes.
