The Camaro had such a huge advantage. First of all it being pitch black, second his car was blacked out, third they had so much distance but instead of being smart and hiding somewhere in the complete dark and turning off the car, they instead slow down and allow the officer to catch up. This is why all valuable cars should have GPS trackers and immobilisers installed, that’s what stopped my muscle car from getting stolen back in 2018. Even though the thieves had both the main keys and the isolator key, they didn’t know where to put it, without it there’s no electrical power and the car is dead. Even bump starting it won’t work in that condition, as both the battery and alternator are isolated by that key.

That cop chasing the Vette made the most halfhearted chase attempt I think I’ve ever seen. I know the Vette was faster and an appreciate his using caution but he clearly wasn’t in it to win it. It’s no surprise they got away.
