Newsstand was on iOS 7. It came out with iOS 5 and was more of a folder than a real “app”. iOS 7 was the first version that allowed you to put newsstand in a folder without a jailbreak.

Other Tips That iClassic Forgot(just in case)

1. The iPhone 6 Box Changed From 2014 To 2015. If You’re Looking For An iPhone 6 That’s Guaranteed To Have iOS 8, Go With The One With The Box That Has No Picture Of The Phone. 2015 Refreshed The 6’s Box And Gave It A Picture Of The Phone.


2. If Your Looking For A Phone iOS 10 Or Older, Please Look Closely At The Font. iOS 7 To 11 Has Extremely Thin Font While 12 Changed The Font To A More Bold Style.

3. The 4 And The 4s Look Very Similar. But There’s A Trick Into Knowing If You Have A 4 Or A 4s. If Not Shown On The Pictures, Ask The Seller To Take A Photo Of The Top Of The Phone. If It Has A Line, Then It’s The iPhone 4. If Not, It’s A 4s.

4. Sure, iClassic Mentioned iOS 7 To 10 Wallpapers But What About Those Who Are Looking For iOS 11 Or 12? 11’s Wallpaper Is An Aerial View Of A Beach. 12’s Wallpaper Is A Hue Of Turquoise Green, Blue And Light Res Mixing In The Middle. 13’s Wallpaper Is Just A Bunch Of Red And Orange Bubbles And 14’s Wallpaper Is Just 3 Triangular Sections. (Keep in mind 13’s And 14’s wallpaper Come in different colors.)

The reason that slide to unlock takes a while to appear is due to touch id. Touch ID is not enabled on that iOS 8 iPhone 6 you demonstrated.

I’m always on eBay looking for older iPhones with close to original OS. Luckily I’ve been studying on them so I can tell by the OS. By far some of the hardest to find (in my opinion) is an iPhone X on iOS 11 and a 7 on iOS 10.

Very interesting video! Important fact: if all you have is a picture of the lock screen, the default wallpaper may not necessarily indicate the iOS version especially if the people kept the old wallpaper after updating.

One thing you should mention is that the Apple TV app in iOS 10 is not available in all regions. I live Norway and here we did not get Apple TV in iOS 10, and had to live with the old video app instead.

i managed to found an iphone 6 plus on ios 8 in near mint condition for $40 because it had a broken touch screen. i was able to tell because the “a” on ios 8 has a little swoop at the end

I find it funny how most YouTubers claim to be Apple users mostly & “been using them their whole life” type thing but say they started with a 6 or 8 like seriously my first iPhone was the 3GS haha
