Before leaving the Philippines, there was one Filipino delicacy we just had to try. While traveling around the Philippines, many people suggested that we try and eat Balut. Especially because we ate Tamilok in Puerto Princesa.

Balut, however, is not for the faint-hearted as it is a developing duck embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell. We decided that we would try Balut in Davo City, where one of our close Filipino friends could show us how to eat it.

congrats for passing the balut challenge. 17days would have been a lot easier as the embryo is still not that visible. for the first timer who ate an 18day balut in broad daylight and without an ice cold beer or even a cola is 100%passing grade. my first balut challenge was done at night time.where i could hardly see what's inside and coupled with bottle of beer and i found it yummy. now i can eat 5-7 balut at one instant with cola at the side
