Make Perfect Gear WITHOUT Wasting Chunks (GUIDE) | Splatoon 3

Thanks to Lean's website, we can easily find a gear's seed and roll the perfect abilities, with just a few steps. I made this tutorial to try and make the process as easy to understand as possible.

**READ ME**

There is now a new and less complicated way to find your information to upload to the website, so you don't have to DM those Discord bots. Check out this video for how to do it (it will also show you how to find the seed for your Shell-Out Machine)


*FAQ*

"I uploaded my gear to the website, but I'm not getting the "Brand New Gear" option. What do I do?"

-This seems to be a glitch with the website. Many have said that reuploading your data to the website fixes the issue, so try that.

"If I've used my gear in a battle before but didn't roll any slots, does it still count as brand new?"

-No, it does not. As soon as you play with it, it is no longer considered brand new.

"How do I find the bot to DM on Discord?"

-There are links under "User Settings" on the website, but I also put the link in the description and below in this comment.

"Does gear you trade with Murch when ordering from people count as new?"

-Only if the former gear you're trading in hasn't been used. This does not change the seed.

"Is there a way to check if I've used a piece of gear before?"

-The only way I'd really know of is to tell the website that your gear is brand new, then roll one slot. See if what you rolled lines up with what the website says you'll roll. If not, you've probably used the gear before.

"Can I reroll my slots to help find the seed quicker?"

-Yes, you can, but I don't recommend it since it's kind of a waste of snails. Rerolling a piece of gear will just give you the next 3 slots on the list, from left to right.


*4:14 Rather than hitting "Search Seed" every time, you can instead hit "Refine Seed." This way, it only searches through the seeds it's already found, which is much faster.

*9:14 Instead of having to get another file from the bot, you can just add new gear by hitting the + button.

Remember, you can do this with any abilities. It doesn't have to be three in a row like I did. If you have any questions please ask.

I’m also a pretty slow learner with this stuff, and I’ve just never really bothered to learn how to do this. I’ve watched a couple videos about the gear seed checker, but none have explained it as well or as simply as this video, thanks Chase!

i did a full set of gear, the headgear and shirt took 7 and the shoes took 8 together this took me about 6 hours, compared to what it would take to get the chunks this was amazing!

this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely despise the gear systems in these games, constantly having to grind out for ability chunks, and spending tons of time to simply put together the right build for each weapon I play. In all of my time playing I feel like I've been more focused on how the damn system works, that I've barely took time to think about what abilities would be good for my build. I can confirm that this method works! I recommend brand new gear for this, I’m not sure if there’s a difference but I got some very easy paths and I was able to get a perfect piece of gear within one hour of playing!

Pretty much mandatory subs (one of each):
Bomb Defense Up, Ink Resistance Up, Quick Super Jump, Special Saver.
Due to diminishing returns, one sub of each is absurdely good and makes a lot of difference. For quick super jump, you shave off the jump frames from 80 frames to 56 frames. One sub of special saver makes you lose only 41% of your special instead of 50%, and
As long as you have at least the first 2 on your kit, you're good. This keeps you from dying from combos or from chip damage from ink 95% of the time due to the damage reduction from ink and indirects. Super good for not dying to 2 shots after a splat bomb indirect or one shotted by being trapped in ink storm on frame 1.
