The CHUCKY Timeline | Horror History

The complete timeline of the Chucky universe (so far). All questions and inconsistencies will be answered.

CHUCKY DID IT. The original Chucky timeline has been a topic of much debate recently with the CHUCKY TV series expanding on the series' past lore and present happenings. The original continuity has mostly managed to stay in tact over the years (with a few exception, which I'll talk about) but we have to put together some puzzle pieces to figure out just when everything takes place.

In this video I'll be laying out every major event in the Chucky / Child's Play timeline and providing evidence as to why I think it should be placed as such.

This video is not meant to come in place of a proper Charles Lee Ray episode of Horror History. I just wanted to spend 10 minutes talking about why the timeline fits together the way that it does so that when I do make more Chucky / Child's Play Horror History episodes, I can focus on the character analysis aspect.

Maybe I'll do this kind of timeline focused episode for other franchises if people react well to it. Also, I forgot to wear a tie like I usually do when in the Horror History classroom. Maybe these timeline episodes will be more casual?

ERRORS BY ME:
- Charles was born in 1958. (I showed this correctly on my spreadsheet, and then proceeded to say the wrong year like a IDIOT)
- At 3:02 it says 1990 in the top right of the screen when it should say 1988. Graphical error.
- At 5:56 I say it's the day before Andy's 25th birthday. If I could do math properly, I would have realized it's actually before his 31st birthday.

ALTERNATE POSSIBILITIES:
- Some have suggested that the doll Andy receives in the mail at the end of Curse was the one from 3 / Bride / Seed and it's the same one that becomes the Chucky head in Curse because the Chucky head in Curse has the same stitches. That means they celebrated Andy's birthday before the actual date. Families celebrate birthdays not on the actual day all the time, maybe Andy's mom was going out of town or something. I like this theory and may incorporate it into the next timeline update.

ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE IN MY FAVOR:
When Nica and Tiffany speak during the poker game in episode she says "long time no see", suggesting it really has been a long time since their meeting in Cult.

In the Child's Play 2 novel, Charles' mother was an alcoholic dwarf who was abusive to him for being taller than her. His father left before his son was born. He did poorly in school and was put in special classes. At the age of 13, after being abused for years and teased constantly by other children about his mother's height, he strangled her to death.

I love how kind you are to what is most likely a ton of timeline errors made by the film makers or those involved in prop making, etc. But it makes sense since you want to have a solid timeline for yourself moving forward. It's just unfortunate, I guess. But you're probably right!

Coming from someone who has had 4 eye surgeries to correct juvenile glaucoma, which was causing rapid vision loss and would have caused future blindness, I wish you luck with yours! Depending on what you're getting done, the stitches can be rather uncomfortable, but you get to occasionally wear a badass eyepatch, so its a win-win!! :D

I think Kyle broke Andy out of the asylum shortly later after Chucky gets away in Nica's Body, and I'm guessing Andy & Kyle had to lay low before the authorities did some investigating since there were a Number of Dead Bodies all over the asylum and Andy's finger prints were all over the place and I think it would be a good idea to lose the CSIs first before they find you and question you and would they believe you if you told them that a Good Guy Doll did it? Andy had already been through it a number of times.

I love this franchise so much . Just wish they would respect their own timeline more often and stop with all the date inconsistencies :( it really breaks my heart touts not taken into consideration almost every time they make a movie or episode

Considering how much time passed between cult and chucky season 1 you have to imagine Nica had regained control several times over that period. That being said it’s somewhat impressive chucky/nica were able to hide that fact from Tiffany for so long

Even if Nica thought it had only been two weeks in her mind, the news article also said Andy escaped two weeks ago. So they are clearly at some point wanted us to think that. I hope its just an easter egg to fans about the franchise timeline not being consistent as opposed to them just not paying attention.

They retcon why Charles Lee Ray was running from the cops in the first movie like 2 or 3 times.
