What a tragedy. I’ve been a listener to the podcast almost since the beginning and David’s contribution has always been what decent journalism should be: fair, articulate, probing and perceptive. I’m sure his influence will live on in the podcast he inspired and edited. He deserves no less.

The recent passing of David Knowles at the early age of 32 was very untimely. For me he was one of the voices informing us all about the situation in Ukraine, and kudos to him for starting this in 2022. I don’t suppose any war has ever received this kind of interesting coverage. However, after reading his obituary in the DT, I was staggered to learn just what an accomplished guy he was on top of the journalism. In fact, what did he NOT achieve? Musician, actor, theologian, linguist, traveller, leader, friend and a sort of unofficial ambassador to the Ukrainians. My condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues.

I’m terribly sorry for the loss of Mr. Knowles. His forthright analysis of situations and his willingness to do the hard thing are rare commodities. He touched a lot of lives. He will be missed.

It's good to see politicians from both sides showing respect to David and his work. In an age of partisan politics it's nice to see some unity. Trump refused to give a clear answer about Ukraine during the debate but J.D. Vance subsequently gave an interview, which has been broadcast, basicically saying that a Trump administration would sell out Ukraine all down the line. I appeal to any Republicans listening here to consider the implications that such policy would mean to the world and that appeasing a dictator like Putin never ends well for anyone.
