This makes sense. Tirtuga that stuck near the shore grew arms and legs and those that went into deeper waters grew flippers and slower metabolisms

One of the more prominent evolutionary theories is actually that mutations don't normally occur because the trait was beneficial to the organism, but just because. Just look at deer antlers. Still cool to see this.
