Hey everyone. Really sweated this one. Hope I did ok for you and you find this video helpful. Also, I know those of you into gaming will correctly point out that it seems the G3’s game mode picture preset is dimming the image and for you that might sway you, but also the lack of DV support and supposed burn-in risk of the S95C sways a lot of folks as well. As only a casual gamer, I don’t feel like I want to weigh in too heavily on that aspect, so I’m leaving it for other creators to handle. I’ll just say I’ve had a ton of fun playing just about everything but FPS games on both. Thanks again! And keep those comments coming! Love ‘em!

At this point TVs are so good that you should first consider your eyesight rather than TV model.

At the end of the day, let's just be grateful that the competition is so intense this year that it's brought us to this point in display technology. You really can't go wrong with either one! Thanks, as always, Caleb!

The toughest decision I've ever made! The S95C 77" (3, 099€) and G3 77" (3, 299€) were both on Black Friday sale. Coming from an LG CX 65", this choice had to be just right. Since movies are my main priority and gaming is non-existent, I ultimately went with the LG G3. However, the S95C had me contemplating for a while, especially with its one-connect box. With a 5-year warranty from LG and a fantastic movie picture, I believe the G3 will be the perfect choice for me.

You get extra points for recognizing and being sensitive to the idea that your audience members are not all high tech types.
A bunch of us are just looking for the latest really good screen, no matter what they did inside to make it that way.

And YES, the Remote IS important! I want to be sure the volume/mute protocol is the standard 'Muted until Volume Up or Mute button is pressed'. I prefer AA batteries, as I think they last longer than AAA.

you're hands down the best reviewer as you keep things realistic and dont get lost in the numbers. Whilst i appreciate Vincent's obsession with the numbers, he often lacks a real world interpretation (i.e what do those numbers actually mean in practice).

This video is an excellent example of why specs on a sheet are not the be all and end all…..it’s what the companies do with those specs that count. Last year I bought a Panasonic LZ2000 (U.K. based). The final two TVs on my list were the Panasonic and the Sony A95K which I was lucky enough to view side by side in a dark room. Although everyone would suggest that spec wise the Sony was the far superior TV, in reality it didn’t turn out that way.

In some instances the Sony looked better, and other times, the Panasonic looked better. The bottom line was that the differences were so small but the price premium of the Sony (at the time) was so significant, it turned out to be a no contest…..I went with the Panasonic. I have to say that after owning the TV now for 9 months I love the set more now than the day I bought it….it’s a fantastic TV. What you see with your eyes…counts more than the spec sheet.

I have a Samsung 65-inch Class QLED Q90T that I got in 2020. It still blows most my friends away. Caleb: how much better are these new TVs in terms of everyday viewing? Back when I bought the Samsung, the brightness over OLEDs in 2020 is what swayed me, but it seems that isn't an issue anymore.

If software support matters, my understanding is that LG has already pushed out an update to improve/fix the ABL performance and also created one for the G2/C2 models. That's encouraging and seems to be contrasted by last year's update by Samsung that reportedly lowered their brightness.

And yet ratings says that the G3 is (slightly) less prone to burn in. A television this expensive should last you a while, and a 5 yr warranty says LG is confident rhat the G3 will.

I've just bought the 77" G3, which is being delivered next week. I'm beyond excited as it's my first new TV for about 15 years (I'm used to a 40" Samsung LCD!).

I've already got the S95C, and I'm happy with it. The colours won me over. The one conect box is good.

I like your honesty. I looked at both TVs before I decided to go with the S95C and you are right. Both offered an amazing picture, but to my eyes the Samsung won. I think when you’re spending the kind of money you have to spend to own one of those TVs, you have to buy what you like, period. Some people are going to like the LG, and some the Samsung!

I’ve been debating between these 2 TV’s since the beginning of the year and eventually purchased the Samsung, but if I woke up next morning and my Samsung magically turned into a g3. I wouldn’t even complain and just stick with that. It’s like trying to split hairs pointing out the differences between them and for that I’m grateful for the variety. You’re not missing out on anything, regardless of which one you pick

Another differentiator that tipped in favor of the S95C for me that I'm surprised no one seems to be mentioning in these reviews is NATIVE Philips Hue integration via an exclusive partnership and app that was rolled out earlier this year for TVs made in the last year or so going forward (including the S95C). No it's not free and the license is non-transferrable, but it can replace their physical (and outdated) HDMI sync box which removes a link in the chain between my devices and does native surround light syncing in a defined entertainment area once paired with a Hue Light Control Bridge. For someone like me heavily invested in their light ecosystem, this was a big win. The separate OneConnect Box too is amazing for cabling and 4K 120Hz VRR Gaming on PS5 is next level. Loving this TV overall; keep up the great work Caleb!

I ended up getting the G3, before most of the S95C reviews came in. I was getting the sense these are going to be neck-and-neck and I'm glad I wasn't wrong. For me the G3 won mainly because of the no-gap mount in the box. I was always going to hang the TV, and it didn't make sense to get one for which I'd have to buy a bracket, when the G3 already came with one. I haven't upgraded my TV in 15 years, so it was definitely a noticeable upgrade for me :)

Seems like these have gotten so good that there really isn’t a better choice…it’s just a small series of trade offs that is going to differ person to person.

Good to know that these are so close. With that said, I’ll probably go with the G3 for the 5 year warranty against burn-in. I’m replacing a 5 year old LG B7 with some serious burn-in from firestick icons that started at the 3 year mark, so burn-in is a real concern for me.

Having watched numerous TV reviews, I finally narrowed it down to these two.
There was only one way to decide and that was to actually see them side by side, well at least they were in the same store here in the UK!
I went from one to the other and back again several time and finally bought the 65" LG G3 as the Samsung's colour was too oversaturated for my taste.
It was a great deal as the LG S95QR soundbar was half price and the LG stand was free, with free installation!
I was not disappointed! The TV is directly facing a bay window and I have not experienced any reflections or glare.
The quality and the sound are outstanding!
For me, it was the right decision.
Now, it's your turn 😁

I played around with both of them. LG G3 was the winner for me but not by much. The input lag, gaming mode, picture quality was a hair better and the fact that it supports Dolby Vision makes it the clear winner.

Good stuff, Caleb! The whole Dolby Vision stubbornness from Samsung was my big concern with the S95C. But if a TV reviewer doesn't see enough of a difference to make the lack of that feature a deal breaker, then I will absolutely not notice. Before this video, the race for me was between the G3 and A95L. But you just put S95C back on the board. Now we just wait for the fashionably late Sony, to make that final buying decision.
