G3 is a valiant effort by LG to stay relevant in 2023 but things have to change in 2024 (lower prices?) otherwise it will fall farther and farther behind as content catches up to the capabilities of QD-OLED. Even with blue pho-OLED in 2026, the WOLED with color filter will still be more diluted at higher luminances than the QD color converting layer for the highest performance TVs priced as flagship. WOLED is definitely relevant for the B and C series but when priced the same as QD-OLED, the G series will face more performance discrepancies as QD-OLED matures with each subsequent year.

I've been researching TV's for about 6 weeks now and I was leaning towards QD-OLED. but after seeing the results of the ongoing tests RTINGS is doing, as a heavy gamer I decided to avoid the QD-OLED's for this round. Now I'm strongly leaning towards the LG G3.

Both tv are so close on the camera and i hardly see any colour difference, so my choice come done to, quicker operating OS and good support and quick update releases that fix bugs and issues with the tv OS. I would go with the LG G3

Got the s95b in my bright living room and she's a beauty. Native 4k anything is stunning, wish more of it was out there.

@TechWithKG I noticed in the pitcure processing section, if I pause the video on any frame, the LG has the sharper more defined image. I have the S95C 77" now and I am trying to work out why the LG still has more definition and depth to it's image in many cases.

As a S95B owner I have to admit that LG catched up and even surpassed Samsung in a few categories. But if I needed a TV today I would still go with QD OLED. My advise: never buy a TV at launch. Wait till black friday or christmas and you get 30%-50% discount. I paid for my 55" S95B only 900€ just 6 Months after relase while the launch price was 2300€.

when the game mode is fixed ( if its gonna get fixed) i will get the G3 for sure because it matches the s95c in movies ( and sometimes surpasses the s95c), i know there is workaround with ALLM but in classy yesterday stream it looks like it doesnt work with the ps5 like it does with the pc/xbox and it is adding input lag, for sdr gaming you can just use a tool to get the peak brightness low/med/high if you want so thats a no problem, just need them to fix the game mode on the G3 and that will be superb.

Overall I think the S95C would be a better choice it’s good that now you can have QD oled in 77 the colours just pop more also S95C now pantone certified? Yeah 100.

Thanks, awesome comparison. I bought the s95b from discount and it is amazing. I think most of them are bent because of the bad quality package design. Sad to hear that it's the same in the never model. The LG is a clear winner in quality, for sure. One tip for you! Please add an extra test for unwanted sound test: coil/electric whining noise on/off. Nobody does that in the reviews! Some models may have very bad whining, so it would be nice to hear your test results. I would not buy this kind of the tv because I hate whining noise.

Just bought the 77“ LG G3 at the start of April primarily for gaming. Samsung is not an option since they put ads in the TV UI and they have very bad picture calculation for PAL content with tons of issues. The G3 is a big upgrade from my C9 so no regrets.

I just got my G2 and it's amazing but the G3 is mind blowing.

Very good review and comparison. I just subscribed. I am glad you pointed out the camera capturing both would produce different results than the actual image. This is of course based on the spectral sensitivity of your camera against the 2 different technologies. Basically a technical Metamerism. Perhaps in the future video's if you haven't already let the viewer know at the start of the video about the camera/capture item. I knew this myself when watching as I have done the same process but was happy when you pointed it out. Great work !!

Have a G2 and absolutely love how it looks and feels on my wall. Actually feels built incredibly well and with premium materials. Honestly would say it’s the apple of tv builds 😅

I got a calibrated G2 cheap for 1300 dollars.
It’s fantastic. Motion, crisp picture. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Excellent video. I think what makes your channel is that you are relateable to the every day person. You look and modes, vary them with settings (i.e. expression enhancer), explain the impact of the feature and on to the next. Almost like bullet points. Great reviewer

I really think i will be looking towards the LG G3 down the road with a price drop later in the year. To my eye the LG seems to push the blues and a little cooler as compared to the Samsung's reds, yellows, oranges and i think that is my preferance in color pallet. Both great TVs though

If you’re a person who keeps their TVs for awhile I would recommend the G3. Samsung doesn’t even consider their QD-OLEDs as their top TVs (they place their QLEDs higher in priority) so support will be more lacking. The G3 is LG’s flagship and will get their highest attention and support. Also, the QD-OLEDs appear to be more prone to burn-in. LG has been mitigating burn-in for years so they know what they’re doing. Since the G3 is close or even better than the S95C in most scenes it’s just the smarter choice long term
