In 2015, Lesley Stahl traveled to Kenya, where a "mobile money" revolution was sweeping the country. Kenyans were sending and receiving money on their cell phones through the platform M-Pesa, which improved commerce and brought basic necessities to poorer areas.

"60 Minutes" is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.

When Bob said “you don’t have to be greedy to be successful” hit differently 😊. Ruto’s government should listen carefully!!

Disrupting the unproductive normal or a monopoly is a way to innovation and growth. Good for you Kenya! Keep the faith!

I’m so happy they have someone who was able to create something thats having such a positive impact on their lives versus stealing and taking advantage of their need. Kudos to this man.

"you dont need to be greedy to be successful" and that is what Africa needs. Am a happy most African nations now have mobile money operators. This has eased a lot of financial transactions across nations. Big up to Africa

It is interesting that Americans find this so fascinating that they did a documentary on it.

In Kenya, this is as common as bread.

It just goes to show that innovations should be based on local needs.

Normally when international media reports in Africa, it is a bit misleading especially if you are familiar with the subject of the stories. This is on point and excellent. Rest in peace Bob Collymore Safaricom's former CEO interviewed here. He died in 2019.
