I think the biggest challenge facing coinbase and, therefore, bitcoin is political. On the one hand, the tendency to concentrate power in fewer and fewer hands, though unsustainable in the long run, in the shorthand could hand over control of most servers to a government with global control.

You don't "just need a cellphone and an internet connection". You need money to invest in Crypto. Also, most of the world has never been online. And I want some of my money to be given as tax to help make my society fairer, safer, and more abundant. This is all about the individual.

In my opinion the obvious choice for a cryptocurrency to benefit developing countries is Nano. Most coins have transaction costs and while they may seem small to developed countries these add up quickly for developing countries. Nano is completely fee-less (just requiring a little CPU power from your device). You send 1 Nano and the other party will receive 1 Nano. Not to mention it has instant send, is eco-friendly (because it doesn't requiring mining) and is decentralized.
