Area Tiles Everywhere

1. Use square mesh provided in Resource Page R44 and shapes of your choice.
2. Place the shape on the square mesh and draw an outline over the mesh using a pencil. Align the shape to squares as best as you can.
3. Count the number of squares within the outline to calculate the area of the shape in cm2.
4. Suppose they cover 10 small square pieces of 1 cm each, then we say area of shape is 10 cm2.
5. Alternative method to measure area of the shape using same shape:
a. Measure length and breadth of the shape.
b. Multiply length by breadth.
c. Check if this is also equal to 10 cm2
