College Student Living In Car Helped By Court.

While working full time and also going to school full time, Manuel Gonzalez has been finding it difficult to survive. Then, when his rent gets raised by almost 30%, Manuel is forced to sleep on a friend's sofa and forced to live out of his car. After receiving several parking tickets, he decides to take them to court to arrange a payment plan. But when Judge Porter hears his story, not only does he waive the fines, but he also finds him a place to stay temporarily.

Dear Judge Porter. I am so touched by your empathy to deserving people. This young man deserves a break, and you have kindly given it to him. God bless your heart. I am from Srilanka, a middle aged person, living with my husband Cornel in California. I was trying to get my driving license a couple of years back. While learning to drive, I accidentally turned right at the traffic lights, stopping only for three seconds. I received a summons in the mail and was fined 500 dollars for that Judge Portor. I pleaded with the judge that I was not employed and it was my first offense, yet I didn’t receive any leniency. So it’s so heartwarming to see the way you handle your cases.
