Quite easily the toughest boss From Software has ever made, Promised Consort Radahn is also one of the most confusing lore wise as not many players expected to face him at the end of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Radahn we face atop Enir-Illim was created by Miquella by taking the soul of Radahn and infusing it into the body of Mogh after we defeated both Demi-gods in the base game and sent them to the shadow realm, this resulted in Radahn being reborn into his prime and strongest self. If this version wasn’t strong enough, the second phase sees Miquella embrace Radahn and lend his power giving his attacks massively powerful AOE light attacks and the ability to attack multiple times with light versions of himself.

There are many other easter eggs, references, and callbacks to Berserk in Elden Ring and From Software games including nods to Guts, the Dragonslayer, Berserker Armor, Griffith, the Godhand, and Apostles. there are many issues I have with this boss but most of them are second phase. Aside from cross quickslash, first phase is extremely fun. I just hope they’ll tone down the flashbangs and performance issues cuz I can handle the damage and the projectile spam but not when I’m having a powerpoint slideshow. Freezing the game is where I cross the line (maybe also the cross slash)

There's actually a lore reason too but it's hella dark.
Miquella wish to become god and so would need to find a lord to rule the empire in his stead. The twist is Miquella's god is that of love and so he helplessly charms everyone he meets into loving him. So loyalty did not matter ss they were all slaves to his visage thus only power would matter. With that he chose Radahn, but Radahn would somehow break free and presumably halting the very heavens to stop this fate. This is why Malenia is sent to slay him as his resurrection could reshackle him. In Miquella's mind it was a necessary evil in which the ends will justify.

Side note lore Miquella has the great irony of being the loneliest character despite the compassion he lives in; like a stranded man dying of dehydration in the infinite blue seas. The reason is because his charm forces compassion from any and all with it's dispelling leading to vitriol. Hence why his lover was an avatar created from himself as the only person he could not fool was himself. Even when Trina was sacrificed she desired his death...not out of hatred by out of compassion to stop miquella in self sacrifice.

I'm still confused how players didn't expect him to be the final Boss, I mean the two Badass NPCs you first meet have dialogue telling you what was about to happen.

Promised consort felt like a downgrade from lothric and Lorian imo. That fight felt so good and flowed so smoothly, whereas promised consort feels ridiculous and miserable for the sake of being miserable like most of ds2. It’s also a little disappointing that the final boss is essentially a ds3 boss with extra bs and stats cranked up

Idk if he's the strongest version of Radhan considering he's not as big as Radhan when fighting Malenia.

Let's not forget that radahn always fought with honor his vast knowledge to his advantage and not using "underhanded" tactics against his enemies
Also he was always in a good relationship with his siblings

This isn't exactly his prime, however you could make an argument that he's stronger than his prime with miquella the tikella for phase 2.

That's not Prime Radahn though. Prime Radahn is the one in the trailer, the one who faced Malenia. This one is a younger less experienced Radahn. He's still insanely powerfull but not exactly at his prime.
