Once I grew awareness of my hands, and what triggers my body-focused repetitive behavior urges with the help of the Keen bracelet, I was able to create management strategies and actually have the strength, and motivation, to act on them.

I used my keen for about 2 months, only complaint is I wish the battery lived longer. But it was super helpful! I haven't had a big episode since May, I haven't needed to wear it again

whats interesting is that its young teens that are struggling with this for the most part and there are no strategies targeted for them. or anyone. every google search I've tried shows nothing but definitions and articles saying the only solution is to tell yourself just to stop. well I cant stop so what else? nothing? wow... I think we should start making actual strategies apart from just telling kids like me who cry at night over their unstoppable urge to pull just to "resist it" its not possible! i hope this starts a new era of ways to stop the pulling.

I don't think it actually is that easy because most people who have trich, there is a Tourette's like/psychosis element.

My hair pulling is always very intentional and focused, I go through “sessions” that may last hours at a time. I don’t think this bracelet would help me

Research NAC in re to the hair pulling. It will help support your body and neurology...mean while use what she is suggesting.

I've been pulling my hair for 14 years since I was a wee child, I don't pull hard it starts as playing with my curls but suddenly it triggers to be more aggressive and I end up putting some hairs. I'm trying everything to help me get rid of this awful habit

I’m not quite ready for a bracelet yet but I’m interested in any resources or recommendations you’d be able to share as far as the work part

I need to put a shock version on me 😂 I will sit there yelling at myself to stop and I can't. I am always aware that I'm doing it because I hyper focus on it.
