Review of Google's Pixel 4 phone after a week of using it as my personal smartphone, including camera test, battery life performance, exclusive Android features and more.

From dodgy face recognition to the fast-draining battery, it's impossible to recommend the Pixel 4 in its current state. Especially as that asking price is way more than rivals such as the OnePlus 7T, which boast similar specs. That said, Google's camera tech is once again stunning, with boosted HDR+ smarts for capturing great-looking photos in all kinds of conditions.

Speed isn't an issue thanks to the Snapdragon 855 chipset, so games like PubG Mobile play at the Extreme frame rate settings without issue. Unfortunately, the Pixel 4 is absolutely atrocious when it comes to battery life. A full charge will often be drained before bedtime, and if you test it with media streaming and gaming, Google's 2019 flagship will die well before that.

Stay tuned for my full review of the XL model but for now I have to say, hold back on buying the Pixel 4. Maybe check out the 3a instead, which is a lot cheaper and still packs some smart camera tech.

Google wasn't expecting Apple to improve battery life and now they are left in the dust looking feeble. Once you experience good battery life you can't go back.

Hey did any of those sample units have a yellow tint on white screens when face on? and text not as sharp as previous models? I've just received a 4 XL and as far as i'm concerned the display is worse than my 2 XL blurred soft text and soft colours on the 4 XL on my unit.

El volumen de la llamada de mí pixel 4XL aunque se encuentre en el mínimo de la configuración, siempre es demasiado alto. Asimismo, cuando intento subir el volumen durante la llamada (o bajarlo), siempre se encuentra al mismo nivel, es decir, parece que no responde al comando. Obviamente, ya intenté modificar la configuración del sonido de la llamada, pero no sucede nada. Le hice un factory reset me funcionó bien por par de días pero luego volvió a estar igual. Parece ser que el altavoz superior está siempre al máximo. Lo mismo me sucede con los mensajes de audio.
Alguien me podría ayudar a resolver este problema?

could you go into a bit more detail about the face unlock not working after 5-6 days? did you manage to get it to work properly and have you had issues since?

I would like to thank you for your video you help me take an important decision. Since the pixel 2 I have been waiting for a small hand set I can use. unfortunately the pixel 2 looked really bad and I opted for the 2XL. Now I'm confused between the pixel 4 XL and the Galaxy s10 and I believe the camera Factor is important to me as well as the battery. Looking forward for your review for the pixel 4 XL and will decide upon it which phone to pick

Really hope the swipe down for notifications comes to the 3a. The fingerprint scanner shortcut is good, but if I had to choose it would be swipe down. Used to love that feature when I used Nova.
