Hubsan H501S X4 Drone Tutorial Video (Part 1)

I made this video for non-tech people like myself who are new to the hobby. If you want to get up to speed quickly with your new quadcopter or drone, this is the video for you.

You make a good point with using the screen to navigate instead of visually looking at the drone. Most people start out on drones in headless mode. Particularly when they aren't using the camera because for them they don't care which direction the drone is pointed. Well when there's a fixed camera and in headless mode it's more difficult to point the camera in the direction you want. Also, when NOT in headless mode, most new flyers have a hard time with steering when the drone yawls. That's because flying the drone away from you means right means right and left means left, yet when the drone turns around you have to reverse that in your head. RC plane pilots have to master that. Using the screen to navigate for beginners helps alot. Besides, when flying it far enough away you need to use the screen anyway. I've seen vids of this drone stock capable of a mile+ range. You're not flying by visual like that!

Hi. Im having a trouble on how to stop video recording on my h501s after i used hubsan watch. I mean after using the rc watch, i can no longer stop video recording on my fpv transmitter no matter what press I do on the video button. Because of this there is no video stored on my sd card as I am force to turn off its power.

Nice video and a very good point about letting go of the controls and allowing the quadcopter to stabilize itself instead of panicking.

Great video. Just bought one as very new to quads. I was not sure I read instructions wrong, but on page 2 says something about GPS settings. Are they pre-built in from factory or do I need to go into transmitter to activate, or is this just to set manual mode? sorry if stupid question as just making sure. I know you have to calibrate quad for GPS before flying by twisting and turning etc...

Yes, there is a need for your kinds/types of drone video speaking to "newbies" and those not so skilled or educated in drone/quad models, terminology, techniques, acronyms, etc. ...keep'em coming; nicely done ...nice casual style. great video man...newbie here also and don't even have the unit yet, but reading a lot about them. first, I was bent on getting a 502s but then based on reviews about the video and photos, now looking into the 501s. Also, heard about a lot about the transmitter killing the alkaline/rechargeable batteries quite fast and the 502s has a new transmitter that already has a jst and some have used some form of lipo batteries. does the 501s have this jst in the transmitter. Waiting for your next tutorial. again, great job.

Can anyone explain why after both calibrations, the radio command indicates my drone is at a distance of 26m or 324 or whatever and a speed of several meters a second whereas it is just nearby and motionless?
The trim on bottom right is not on zero but below zero.

Hi Does the telemetry from the Tx screen show up on fpv goggles plugged into the AV out port

Couple questions :
1) return to home, when pressed with GPS on it comes up with a message saying something about the throttle stick too/not low enough?
2) the instructions say on your second (vertical) cal. To turn it counter clockwise yet a lot of you tubers rotate the vertical cal clockwise. Would this make a difference?
3) there was a third question but I can't remember lol.

Apart from that, my drone works real well!
