Thanks Mark, , , that helped...thing is after the second calibration it goes back to the red rotation again had to repeat procedure..got the motors to start, , I guess it’s because it is automatically do notice it takes a long time to acquire sattelites sometimes, , , I guess I’m just used to my other is my first hubsan drone, , , definitely a different animal...I have a huge inventory of the bugs series, , , , jjrc and visuo, , , thanks for the help sir, , , and disregards the naysayers...I’m a a fan...keep up the good work, , you are an asset to the hobby....

I like how you are concise - so many "tutorials" blab on too much. I gust got one for Christmas. It has the other type of controller but this video has been a great help. I am looking at turning it into a light fishing drone

I’m impressed with your tutorials, , , , I watch them problem with my ss model, , I can’t bind the drone..the tx says to check gyro sensor all of a sudden, , , , havent crashed or anything, , , what do you suggest?, , , I’m at a loss...Where is this sensor located? Thanks you sir...jim

Mark, I flew one of these before and today mine arrives. You had a couple things that you did that I didn't know about so let me kinda return the flavor as a new subscriber. When you were talking about the video connectors and the headphone type plug with 3 rings....those and every plug in type and size are called TRS Tipped Ring Sleeve. These are usually called quarter inch in the pro audio realm, but the term applies to any male multiple lead connector.

Question...with the IMU calibration, does every quad and hex have an IMU cal? I have several store bought RTF quads and most usually have a general calibration button or sequence. I've done my fair share of crashing and sometimes the quad starts and continues to start out alright seemingly, but then it loses altitude and I can not pull up out of it. Then while under power the quad gets to the ground softly, kisses the ground and then I'm able to rise once again until the same thing happens again and again until I say fuck it all or the battery dies. Doesn't seem to matter what company its from, they all do the same, even a Sky Viper Journey. Thanks man, Danny

I have 2 of these drones. Brand new never been flown, , can’t get it to calibrate for the satellites...I’ve tried everything for 3 days now and can’t get the motors to activate, , , I don’t have the red lites to calibrate....I mean I’ve tried EVERYTHING, , , NOTHING WORKS, the only thing I haven’t done was inserting an sd card, , , , is this necessary to fly, , , I don’t followed to the T, , everything you said, , , plus the manual, , even the hubsan tutorials, , , drives me and my son crazy you advise ready to send them back to amazon....

Hello Mark, thanks for a great tutorial - spot on ! A quite old newby to drones here and have already lost my Hubsan501s due to my inability and stupidty 😢 Wished I had seen your video earlier. I have another one on the way but not quite sure re flying with no gps? In the menu it asks "fly with no gps" should this be left as is for me? Flying without gps is this classed as manual mode? forgive my ignorance but any further clarification would be most appreciated. Kind regards, Tony(UK) 👍

I bumped into a tree branch with my 501ss pro edition. It caused zero physical damage but the drone dropped to the ground from about 8 feet high. I took right back off and everything seems fine except that it doesn’t seem to be holding altitude properly.
Is there a way to recalibrate the barometric sensor ?
