The Mac's pork cracklings brought back memories for me! We never ate them directly out of the bag because of how hard they are, BUT my Dad would soak them in buttermilk to soften them overnight and then add them to cornbread. We would crumble that cornbread over slow-cooked pinto beans and with each bite we'd have a bite of green onion as well. For school lunches, my favorite was when I'd have a pimiento cheese sandwich in my bag. Another favorite that we have on New Year's Day in the south is sliced pig jowl. I live in the Northwest here and things like that are impossible to find. Sorry for the long comment, but this video sparked so many wonderful childhood memories. Thank you for sharing, Emmy. I love your videos.

I love it how you say "no" and still takes another sip. You really give everything a chance! I'm very picky with food but I loooove to see you taste different things. It's a delight! Lots of love from Sweden 🎀

My grandparents used to go on trips to Michigan and would always bring a Stuckey's pecan log as a treat for us. This reminded me of them.

The type of candy in the middle of the pecan log is called "divinity." Divinity is a very popular southern type of candy.

You're so entertaining to watch! Whether it's an MRE, treats from another country/region of America, or making something, I can always be sure that when I come to this channel, I'm getting a quality video. I can watch these videos with my 14-year old and 2.5year old twins (you have such a happy voice and expressive face- they love that about you) and know that the video will be appropriate for the four of us to watch,

Emmy, I just wanted to let you know I absolutely love your videos. I am so much more open to foods because of you! I have a chronic illness that requires me to eat/drink large amounts of salt, as it aids to my heart and blood, and there are SO MANY different foods from around the world that have high sodium but are also nutritious! So, because of you, I went to the Asian Market and got new foods suited to my needs.

Love you and your videos, keep it up <3

I lived in Chesapeake Virginia just outside of Norfolk for over 25 years and never heard nor seen that soda called Northern Neck. Stuckeys are great for their snack items. Years ago you could buy a soda made from celery called Dr. Brown's cel-ray soda, unfortunately it is only available on-line now.

I'm from Virginia, live out in the country and we don't have those Northern Neck sodas. Here the big thing is Walmart brand. My family drinks mostly water though. I DO remember those Stuckey's pecan log rolls. I think they still sell them at drug stores and are called pecan nougat rolls. My brothers and sister and I used to BEG for those in our Easter baskets each year back in the 90's....they were good. Nowadays it's gluten free, dairy free and nut free for me.

Although I am southern through and through, I have never enjoyed our convenience store snacks too terribly much. We do, however, cook some of the best actual meals in the world! I'd love to see you do a video where you try classic southern dinners!

Out of all the comments that get posted I would hardly expect mine to be noticed, but seeing the Stuckey's Pecan Roll brought back many a good memory for me. I used to travel quite often from the west coast deep down into the southern states and remember just how many Stuckey's you could pass while driving highway 40. I'm not an especially old man, but I've lived more years in my life thus far than most and have lucked into many a great story. Stuckey's played a part of several of them. Enjoyed the video as always, keep doing what you do. Thanks!

I love pecan logs so much. Live in NC, but when we went to Florida I'd get them on the way there.

When you said No to that cucumber drink. That was by far the cutest thing I've ever seen you do. I love you Emmy.
