We purchased the Korg CM 300 contact microphone, which I use for field recording and recording sound effects. We're going to try it with water today, but I'll show you additional videos very soon.

Sounds OK for the price, but would like to hear it on other sources.

I find with these lower end microphones i hear a difference in the higher frequencies being not as bright, i remember my sound teacher telling us about the key test, where you jingle a set of car keys in front of different microphones to hear how bright or clinky they sound!

This was my first contact mic. I did have to use noise reduction and be very selective of the sources I recorded. It has its uses though.

Is the resonance from the glass or from the contact mic?

Amazing for the price point :) One question, can you plug it into a portable recorder, like the Zoom H4n, directly or will it problems with input impedance (like piezo mics)?

I stumbled on your channel - and really loving it! I’m enjoying learning and listening to these sounds!
I typically sketch and was looking at ways to record the sketching process. I’m now wondering if a contact microphone is a good idea for capturing the sketching process.
Anyhow, thanks for sharing the videos and for bringing us along these audio adventures!

Noise is texture. Don´t reduce the noise!
