Pearl Returning & Lotus Leaving | VALORANT State of the Maps

VALORANT released an article discussing the state of the maps and giving us a look ahead into what they have planned for the rest of the year. Sunset will be getting map changes in Patch 9.08 to help deal with post plant spam / gameplay.

Also in Patch 9.08, Pearl and Split will return to the competitive Map Pool, with Icebox and Lotus being removed.

I was focused on Fracture and forgot to mention that neither Pearl or Split will have any map changes when they return.

pearl and split are like my worst nightmare of maps and both of them coming back is gonna make me no longer play comp prob

Ascent is the default map the probably wont ever take it out of rotation

Fracture should definitely come back because it’s a well designed map.

It forces defenders to fight for early space and be proactive on defense, while attackers have to coordinate split pushes.

I also don't like ascent and i didn't like fracture that much either. Still i would choose fracture over ascent. Lotus became my comfy map and now its going out of the pool.

like at least change ascent in some perceivable way, there is no way RIOT thinks its a perfect map, so idk why they are allergic to changing it.

Just keep Ascent, Bind, Haven and Split always on rotation, than I'm ok with everything else. I wish we had some sort of map selection tho

I think people should be able to pick for their own map pool (min. 7) when queueing, and they can only change once every week or month

Kinda like cs2, but you can freely pick which map to queue
