In this video, Leah discusses the VA Caregiver Support Program. She highlights the program's two branches: the General Caregiver Support Services and the Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers. The General Caregiver Support Services offers resources such as peer support and training, while the Comprehensive Assistance program provides more intensive support for those caring for veterans with serious injuries or illnesses, including access to Champ VA healthcare and monthly stipends.

Literally had my appointment a few minutes ago. The social worker was condescending and rude. She spent the first 10 minutes explaining every reason why we werent going to get approved and what they are actually looking for, nevermind what eligibility they listed. Basically they want you to be in a veggitive state or missing multiple limbs after being set on fire. I just disconnected from the meeting. Prior to this meeting they screen your application for eligibility. So i don't know what the issue was

Problem is most people say they’re getting denied. The catch is may qualify. This program is messed up.

I am the caregiver of my son I received payment from VA every month.. I was under FMLA, then short term disability and now I am currently under long term disability, however I was told that I need to apply for social security disability to continue receiving my LTD… I have PSTD after what had happened to my son, working and take care of him is too much for me, that is why I applied for LTD, however the income as a caregiver is not a lot that is why I need the second income but now I don’t know what is going to happen if I have to apply for disability benefit trough the Social Security.. I have to do this? I will lose my VA payment if I get social security disability? I will loose my VA caregiver income?
My son was in a car accident (service connected) and suffered anoxic Brain Injury post cardiac arrest.. He was on the AirForce

Thanks for this video. I have been looking into becoming a caregiver and this information is very helpful. I have a question. I have a vet who wants to get back into the workforce (remote to start would be best)...But I know they're also going to need a lot of work re-acclimating themselves socially and learning how to communicate, set and meet goals and deadlines...and even learning what their skillset is, what they like doing or would thrive in, etc. Do you have any resources for career counseling for vets?

Good luck. They deny everyone for the Care Givers program.

As a disable veteran, I have VA health care plus Medicare part B to overlap programs that are available to me.😊
