Thanks for the film. Been learning Unreal about a year (with breaks). Most elements you mentioned happened to me. Your advice made me rethink my focus. Started with manual level design, then PCG, and adding extra elements. Deleted all projects after a year, except one for memories :D Now, with more experience, combining all learned elements into one project + adding AI narrators. Hope to showcase a decent game in two months :))

I'm honestly surprised that you hold the "if it works, then it works" belief. I see this a lot in newer devs that have a couple of years of engine experience, but its VERY dangerous way to approach things. Think of it like a construction project: if you build an unstable foundation it will work with one floor of apartments, but when you start adding a second or third floor, that foundation might not hold. Game dev projects are kind of like that because mechanics and systems are not built in isolation. For example, your locomotion system informs when and how you can interact with objects, and the interaction system feeds data into other mechanics that might also feed back to locomotion. It's all connected and coupled together if done right. If you need to re-do poorly built logic later in your project, you're not just re-doing that logic, you're most likely re-working every other system it touches.

I think as you get more experienced in the engine and game dev, you'll find out how true this is. Pay attention to the comments that tell you it might not work in a bigger project and don't dismiss them. Hopefully that helps others too that might hear this advice.
