I get to ‘Examining volumes’ and then goes straight into start up. It does not give the opportunity to select a volume.

I don't want to erase the current data or anything, just want to backup SOME folders my extrenal ssd time machine deleted when the disk was full ( automatically) how can i do this ?

How come when I click the selected back up it says my files are too big? I can’t do anything after that, I’m completely stuck 😒
