Pelican Cooler REAL WORLD Test and Review

If you are looking at High Performance coolers there is no point in buying one of the "less expensive" ones. You are looking for performance right? Pelican is made by the leader in Mil-Spec Cases, they are actually FULL CAPACITY inside instead of bait & switch sizes! The material is the thickest, strongest and heaviest on the market. (Just compare weights!) The 80QT pelican weighs more than the 110 Yeti! Check it out and let me know what you think.

Excellent cooler test. Plenty of beer. Plenty of ice. Nice. I love the pelican cooler you used for the ice challenge.

Scott, love your videos, I learn a lot. I see your reels on the wall, I used to do the same. I mostly use monofilament and now I keep them in dark closet and get 3X the life.

From first hand experience yes I hear the argument about how much Ice you can buy for 350 bucks but working in the oilfield/pipeline we need a cooler that is tuff and it’s nice to have ice 3+ days it’s a pain in the ass to have to refill the cooler at the end of every day pelican gets my money and will continue to get my money everytime

Very nice Scott! I think everyone needs to do a 5 day beer challenge! The world would be a better place!

I have a Pelican 30qt and I have to agree! I throw a handful of 2-3lb ice packs in mine with some cans of soda and bottles of water at the beginning of the week and leave it in the back of my 4runner. No more paying gas station prices for drinks when we're out running errands or whatever, just dive in and enjoy. Another bonus people don't think about is throw your meat and dairy products in there when you leave the grocery store, no more racing straight home to put them in the fridge. I have dealt with Pelican and their life time warranty before, no drama or bs! I wouldn't buy any other brand cooler unless Pelican stops making them.

I just picked up an older discontinued 65qt Pelican on clearance. Man they are a whole different kind of tough!I recently prechilled it per manufacturer recommendation, and filled it with 12bags of ice, (left in the bags, un-broken up). I used the pelican to refill our primary cheapo beer coolers on a 4 day camp (bender). Even after the 3rd day in 95F temps, there was still virtually no melt in those bags. The cheapo coolers were eating ice about as fast as we were drinking. Ive got a couple Orcas too, and they are just fine, but honestly, this Pelican is a whole different kinda strong. Good vid!

They had the Pelican cooler on sale this week so I went in to get the 50Q Elite but ended up getting the 70Q instead. They make the coolers much lighter now and I love that! I'm wondering if they make dividers for the bigger coolers?

Looks like a nice cooler! How about some real world specifications, width, length, empty weight, etc.? On your next test, how about going through ALL of the beer in 2 or 3 days. Show more images of the inside of the cooler, how much of that ice disappears after diving in for cold refreshing beverages during the test period.

Thanks for doing this realistic test. Did you pre-chill it or anything or was everything thrown in right away?

how many times a day did you open the cooler? only one time. Yeti all the way for me...no seal problems, no drain issues, and the basket comes with it inside for free not 60 extra like the Pelican. Set that cooler in the back of a chevy truck and haul it around or a boat...then get it in it all day long....thats real world test.

Canyon and Orca just as good, if not better, and "slightly" less expensive.
