The cards that he mentions are solid cards in general and not lvl dependent crads wich need to be upgraded in order to be good.
The criteria seems to not focus on the top epics to upgrade.(ex: skarmy musketere fire ball etc. are highly lvl dependent cards)

4. Zappies ( I don’t have zappies so I replaced it with freeze)

Poison is a VERY underrated spell. Wrecks Graveyard, wrecks any swarm, it even kills anything that dies to a Fireball (plus a bit more!) if given enough time.

Dark Prince is very comparable to Valkyrie but is better as a generalist card. Valk definitely outclasses him in defense though.
