Many Protestants assume that we believe Purgatory to be a second chance at salvation when in actuality the Church teaches that the souls in Purgatory are indeed saved just not clean enough to enter Heaven.

please pray for my father Camilo and my younger brother Melchor. out of nowhere, I had a dream of them one night, I saw them in dirty white clothes. I even mentioned when I saw them, how come they are still alive, they supposed to be dead. My dad responsed was they were in a place where multiple people are gathered; it is very dark and they were very thirsty. Somehow, everybody was talking about a light where it is leading them to a river or a spring. They saw the light in the midst of darkness where everybody followed and people were talking to a river/spring where they could drink water. while my brother, I noticed, he was very hungry and thirsty. Idk what the interpretation of the dream was, but I thought, and I hoped, prayed that they're in the place of purgatory.

I’ve debated Protestants for decades.
Never met one who could describe purgatory

Heaven and Hell are two imaginary places that exist in the mind of every individual that has learned the differences between the two imaginary places . The different kinds of laws that exist and the way those laws are enforced have similarity's to the law of God .
The Record keeping that is not kept in the minds of those individuals that wrote the laws, yet are kept in a tanglebule form called a Criminal Record and whether the crime was a misdemeanor or a felony each offense has a similar or different kind of punishment, that is recorded and can be used against the individual person until he or she is no longer alive .
The words double jeopardy cannot and are not in the writings about the first imaginary place called Heaven .
To have been a living human being that was constantly told that they were not a God, but a mortal man or woman, and that none of us are Perfect like GOD .
To have learned and accepted that belief, yet be held responsible for the indiscretions that were committed during our life as a mortal human being and have to face a Judgment after he or she has died is a reality called Double Jeopardy .
