Thank you everyone for 30k views! On a channel with fewer than 100 subscribers, that means a lot!

Let me know if you would like to see me do more DEFCON gameplay videos or if you have any other feedback.

Thank you for playing DEFCON. Please do not be alarmed at the DOD marked sedan pulling into your driveway. Some gentlmen in blue uniforms representing the United States Air and Space Forces would like very much to have a chat with you sir.

The only audio of clicking keys really makes this feel isolated. like your just the person in a bunker clicking humanity away into oblivion.

Waiter: “and what would you like to order sir?”

Him: “Mutually Assured Destruction… Hold the Mutually”

I remember playing this game on LAN in my office back in the day. It had a specific game mode that was designed to play out over 8 hours to let you play it at work, and give fairly unassuming alerts in your status bar to let you know if other players did important stuff like launch missiles. The program had a "boss key" where it would instantly minimize if you were playing and your boss came around. Good times.

I always suspected if played well this was plausible but i was never a good enough strategist to make it happen, nice work

Pro tip for newer players. Launch all your bombers into the distance somewhere on the map. From your air bases, and aircraft carriers. u should have close to 50 bombers out at the same time. Once all of them are out u just order them 1 by 1 to nuke 1 continent. Then u use ur silos to fire ICBMS and your submarines. and by the time all of it comes together u have over 60 ICBMS on top of 1 continent. At that point no amount of defenses can stop so many nukes at the same time. Most games i play by the end of the game i have 0 nukes left and at least 70% of them hit cities because i swarm my enemies with an overwhelming amount of nukes.

is to win.

This game is terrifying for some reason. Just the silence barring the ambience, and watching explosions killing millions of people in an instant just appear as a... number. It's probably the eeriest game I've ever played.

Imagine being that second wave of bombers flying over western Russia after it's been nuked. The pure desolation as you look down below.

This game is so fucking scary, dude. Even in a best case scenario like this (for me) the sheer gravity of this situation makes my stomach churn.

The mouse and keyboard are almost as loud as a nuclear war

I thought this was Mutually Assured Destruction, not an I win, you lose situation lol

Counterforce. Part of the reason the us no longer is so concerned about developing interceptors. The other half is the improved triggers on us nuclear weapons that allow evenly slightly off course warheads to successfully attack hardened launchers.
