How I read a green. I think a good step to reading a green is to watch where your playing partners go to fix their pitch mark and then look from this spot to where they have marked their ball to judge the contours or the roll of the ball from landing to stop. Playing in a 4 ball will usually give you 4 different lines and a good idea on what your putt should do.

How I read a green

Looking from the low side is something that I have probably never ever considered doing; madness huh? Great tip and something for me to do from now on.
Cheers

How I read a green: I will usually look from behind and each side. I typically get an idea of where the line is, then I pick a point about a pace in front of my ball and aim for that.

After watching a few of the videos, more specifically the video involving focusing on distance and a more focused aiming technique. I noticed better rolls of the ball. Adding that to a practice routine with my normal routine helped quite a bit on consistency. Not to boast here, but my last round made a 35 footer and a 50 footer for my low round of the season! These videos have helped and I will continue to watch and add to my routine. Thanks a lot guys!

How i read a green
It's interesting because all putting lessons i've had get you to look at the put from either side of the hole, but when you explain it like that, a low side read makes so much more sense.

A few things that really help my putting: calmly study the green as you walk towards it from your approach shot, try to get a big picture sense of it as you do; truly study everyone else's ball movements on the green like a hawk and yours if you chip/putt - particularly past the hole; always look at greens on other holes for slopes/pin positions etc. asking the questions - where best to putt or chip from. Most importantly, have realistic expectations: at 6 feet, pros will single putt something like 50%, at 10 feet it's about 30% (Pelz). Smile and learn! Cheers and thanks from Sydney, Aust - Dave

I start to read the green as I approach it, getting a feel for the contours and slopes. I then walk all around the hole looking for the straight up hill putt and down hill, putt. They become my reference points against which I consider the break. Standing behind my ball I look through the ball along the break looking to see the fall line. Then I sense the pace, line the putter, and putt. I do not move the ball, or align the ball. When I do that I lose the sense of feel for the putt. I may clean the ball if it is dirty.

Great vid!
I determine how the ball will enter the hole, from where I am standing.
I then, determine the spot which I must roll it over to enter the hole, as I have decided it must go.
I generally miss on the high side, because I strike it a little too firmly.
Cheers, from Maryland, USA!

How I read a green: I try to notice the general contour of the green as I'm walking up to it. I get behind the ball and squat down low to try and determine the break. On more confusing putts, I will also look at the low side. If I am unable to really bend down behind the put I will look at from the opposite side of the hole. If I'm not sure of the break I back up and look for any ridges, slopes, etc. that may influence the putt.

How I read a green. I found the idea of so many thing going on in my head to happen a lot more when I play with people... when I play with myself I always score my best or better rounds and then my mates always make fun of me because I’m trash when I play with them lol

Good video, I'm guilty of reading into things too much at times, keep it simple.

Great advice i think, trust your instincts and first impressions, dont go overeading and take a look from the low side to judge the distance, then play the distance - your supercomputer will give you the line, trust it .
Ive gotta say pete while im on this time travel trip, youve really let yourself go 🙊
