You can also take some strong wire cutters to the plastic and cut in certain areas. It works and with a the regular grey n64 you never see the back job. I got backup Japanese copies of my whole library for like 150 cad plus I had doubles and triples of random games to trade/sell off

Could also cut or drill the plastic parts off that’s preventing the Japanese versions to fit. Just like on the snes

I am buying an adapter that’s inserted in to the console, my console is pal, woud it still work?

You can also take out the North American cartridge slot and use a power tool and cut off the bump part. Or just leave the cartridge slot out.

Always known about the converter unfortunately some think the N64 is region locked which in reality it isn't

I knew about the cartridge shell swapping method for several years, but I never knew there was a part you could swap inside the console itself to get past the region lock.
As for the third thing shown here, it looks pretty interesting. How long has it been around for? I definitely need to get one at some point 🤔
