Have owned one for years now. Take it hiking. Doesn't weigh much and very handy just in case you need a weapon with some reach and cutting power. I keep it very sharp. I own a few Cold Steel blades of all kinds. Bought a Trail Master 20 years ago when they were still made in the USA. Actually just bought it cause the sports store ordered it for someone and they didn't come get it. So got a good deal on it. Used it to butcher an elk and was very impressed with how well it held its edge. So, bought a lot of other blades. Several swords. One of my favourite manufacturers.

Honestly, CS needs to make a version of this but as an umbrella. I don’t have a medical need for a cane, but everyone needs an umbrella and having one with such a strong stem and strong blade, that would be amazing. As for slimmer stick, I was never a fan of that blade as the one demoed here was stout enough and aesthetically pleasing enough to carry.

While I do not actually "need" a cane, at nearly 70 my legs do get a bit tired if I am on them for extended periods of time. My Cold Steel Heavy Duty Sword Cane gives me support, and a GREAT self defense option in the bargain!
I recommend it HIGHLY. FIVE out of FIVE stars. I keep mine in my car as an addition to my "get home" bag. An unexpected long walk would be MUCH easier with this fellow along, and that hidden blade is not something most trouble will want to deal with. It would take a hand off easily or give an arm such a cut (if it didn't remove it altogether), that any further use of it would be impossible. Slash a thigh? No trouble reaching a major artery. Unless your attacker shoots you, most will think better of getting into the arc of that blade!
This sword cane is 1st rate! Get yourself one. You will not be disappointed!

I have had one for a decade, and it is my daily friend when I go out. It is simply superb! GOOD STEEL! Hard to sharpen and so it holds its edge, and I cannot imagine ever breaking it! And that tube IS strong and useful. What Mr. Thompson makes look easy is how HARD it is to pull out of the sheath---unless you were in real peril and your adrenalin gives you Super Strength. It takes a REALLY strong tug to get it free---just like you would have if you really needed it! No problem in a real confrontation, yet if anybody gives it an ordinary yank it does not budge---a Law Officer could test it and think it is solid! It has no screw shaft or "secret" release button to fumble for, just YANK it out. Oh, and rubber tips are easily replaced from any hardware store. I am a magnet for feral mugger-types: old, fat, grey, and half-crippled; yet whenever a baddie comes close they change their mind---just from the LOOK ON MY FACE! I have no connection to Cold Steel, I simply respect their product, and this is the REAL DEAL. It is a lifetime tool, and worth every penny! Do not be fooled by any junk from the "K"
