The moving film indicator also indicates it's running even without a cartridge inside so it's not really something you can rely on. If a film would get stuck you'll hear it. If it's snapped you're out of luck cause the indicator won't notice.

yall should get into the 16mm game. love your setup though, great idea. will be purchasing the super 8 cam package shortly. cant wait to hit the beach. Also anyone ever attempt to mount the Rhonda onto a modern gimble? I know the "shaky" look goes with the whole era.. but curious.. would probably look pretty interesting. like the first days of the steadicam
