How To Respond To The Felony

It’s never been a better time to be a felon.

Whether you tell them or not, most employers will do a background check and discover your criminal past.

It's not unusual for your criminal record to have inaccuracies, which prospective employers would almost certainly notice.

Before applying for a job, it's critical that you check it and correct any errors.

Many businesses may overlook a single drug possession or DUI history, but not a succession of theft or violence convictions.

This shouldn’t hold you back from doing what you can or want

There are so many options out there for EVERYBODY, regardless of your criminal background

One of my brothers went inside for street pharmaceuticals. Got a felony on his record. He came out and went into the car industry. Selling used cars. He dedicated himself to the craft. Had to deal with a lot of foolishness. To the point he quit and got out. He worked for a traveling circus. Spending months away from his kids. Got back into sales with mattresses. He gave his life to God soon after.

He got a call 3 weeks ago from someone who remembered how good he was with car sales and asked him if he wanted to be a finance manager for an entire dealership. He was apprehensive because of the background check. He was transparent about his past. Dude at the dealership said it was up to the HR people if it would be a dealbreaker. We all fasted and prayed for his clarity and guidance from God.

Today, he accepted the job. Salary is $160k. What man denies, God will provide.

God knows all of y’all hearts. Your renewed minds and your renewed spirits. Don’t let this world tell you your worth. You’re God’s child. Give it all to him.

“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.”

Nah thats 🧢 I was charged with a deferred felony 16 years ago, got my CDL a year ago and have been getting turned down left and right for paying jobs had great interviews and all. I was turned down for all of them, and I never even went to prison. THEY STILL CARE! 😂🤣

Oh bro people still care. 😅 I’ve been battling this since I got out. Have been told no since 2009. I’m now 32 and my case happened in 2009. Nobody will rent to me. 80% of my jobs are duds because the only people who will hire a felon are those with high turnover rates and/or they’re startups looking to expand and once they don’t have the cash flow you’re the first one laid off.

Best bet is to get the home in someone else’s name or air bnb it.

Uh I don't know about all that. Even after I closed and finished my case with a "not guilty" verdict: the fact it happened is simply enough for them to say no. Most don't even want an explanation and when they do hear it: it's a no either ways for me. I spent over 100$ in applying for a job and weeks of paperwork and lobbying just for a no from some dude who I never even met

Going through this right now, even basic minimum wage jobs are doing background checks and anything management, assistant management, cashier, mechanic, and sales all need one rn.
