In Mark chapter 11, when Jesus said to the fig tree, "No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever", and drove the moneychangers and animals out of the temple, He pronounced the expiry date and end of the Old Covenant, the Law and Judaism! John Patrick, author and Middle East refugee-relief coordinator, reveals the inner meaning of the fig tree curse, and challenges everyone to decide which temple trajectory they are on: The one built on devilish deception, or the temple of God made of living stones!

Scriptures read in this podcast:
Hosea 9:10; Jeremiah 24:1-8; 7:11; Matthew 24:14; Ezk.39:23; Mark 11:12-24; Luke 1:31-32; 16:16; Romans 7:4; Hebrews 8:13; 1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Acts 7:48; Matthew 19:28; Isaiah 9:6-7; Ephesian 2:21-22; Matthew 23:39; Romans 11:25-29; Zachariah 12:10-11; Colossians 3:15

Thank you John for such a good and revelatory class. The verses you shared were so good about the fig tree and comparing it with Israel. God bless you Chris also for such an amazing program and for inviting John Patrick to give us this timely class.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, " has been stretched well beyond any reasonable meaning. It's become a "tradition of the elders" for our times. When Jesus' disciples asked Him how they should pray, He taught them. That's how we should pray.

I don’t think we should preach what we don’t practice. Our deeds are our testimony. The Bible doesn’t say preach to the poor, it says to house the poor. It doesn’t say lecture the hungry, it says to feed the hungry. Jesus maybe didn’t think the temple should be used as a for-profit marketplace, but as a place to worship. We must judge what actions we take as individuals, which path to follow in the face of such human suffering. I think God wants me to choose the path of righteous deeds. Thank you.

I'm glad you can teach this message. The Lord has extended mercy and wants us to accept it. I think about Isaiah 40, verses 1 and 2 and wish we could all say, "Okay Lord, we're done" and leave all the violence, doom and judgement in the past. When we despise mercy like the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18, we keep carrying our own debts.

A fig is a flower that grows inwards ... And Salem means peace. God bless and thank you for your videos and for your daily verses. I am grateful

Thank you John for this spirit led insight into Israel and how God sees it. This is so contrary to how most of the evangelical Christian world views modern Israel, which is through the erroneous Dispensationalist theological view. Thus they excuse Israel's atrocities against the Palestinians, Lebanese and others. Your expose hit the mark. May the Lord intervene and bring peace and salvation to all in the region.

Hi John ...you say often "WE have their blood on our hands", "WE are giving them money to build a temple which will be given to the antichrist", "WE are supporting a nation that is persecuting Christians". I know what you mean, but it is so good to know that it is not "we", "us", there are many who have discernment and see through it all and are not deceived. And He lets them grow together, like the Parable of the Weeds (Matthew 13:24-43). His judgement will be swift!

Exactly right. When Jesus the Messiah, the Lamb of God was cruxified, He took away the sins of the world, for the Jews and gentiles. Being the only begotten Son of God, this sacrificial Lamb of God made temple sacrifice no longer of any effect. The promised Savior had come and temple worship and sacrifice was no longer needed nor acceptable to God. The Son of God, the Lamb of God, became the promised sacrifice for the sins of the world. Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh and now is when the "true worshipers" shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Hallelujah!!

Personal Connection: "Hearing John’s experiences with children in refugee camps is heartbreaking. It makes the theological discussions feel very real. Has anyone here had similar experiences? How do we reconcile our faith with the suffering we see in the world?

Thoroughly enjoyed this..especially your question "Would you still divert your funds to Israel and pray exclusively for them if Caiaphas was High Priest and Ahab was king?" Would you? Would you really? Thanks John.

This is food for thought! So what is your opinion about giving funds to help seniors in Israel?

The born-again Christians are now the Israel of God (Galatians 6:16). No matter if they were previously Jew or Gentile, all are one in Christ Jesus -- ONE NEW MAN! (Ephesians 2:11-15). God is finished with flesh and blood Israel. The Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom, and all are welcome through Jesus Christ! "The flesh profiteth NOTHING!" (John 6:63)

Try as some might to defy the TRUE teachings of Jesus Christ with twisted theology, Hermetical "higher learning", doctrinal diatribes and denominational discourses, our Lord's curse upon the fig tree is settled and sealed! And those who fight against His Word are held accountable! Those who feel they have to please governments so they get their church tax breaks and benefits, their parishioners approval, their higher-ups' okay for gain and prestige! All of which, in the end, profiteth nothing! I pray this Nightlight podcast gets a lot of attention and does the business in especially waking up the clueless Christian institutions that don't have a grip on God's Word-Authority reality! Those who are flagrantly desecrating Jesus' prophecy, explained in this podcast, are leading the world, especially the hypnotized churchy Christians, straight back into the Devil's den of thieves! The fig tree is cursed! Judaism was cancelled by the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! 🙌
