Minimalist Everyday Carry + What's In My Bag (Men's Edition)

EDC — everyday carry. Frankly, our honest EDC wouldn't be much fun to look at. Having been working from home for several years, we don't actually have to carry anything on a daily basis. That said, this is what (and how) Glo carries, on days where we head out for some sunshine.

ESSENTIALS
00:30 Phone
01:15 Orbitkey Key Organiser

LIGHT CARRY
01:39 Klean Kanteen Bottle
02:02 Bellroy Sling Bag
02:20 Fiil T1 Lite Earbuds

EXTENDED CARRY
02:41 Able Carry Backpack*
03:22 Orbitkey Clip V2*
*Unfortunately, the Orbitkey Clip V2 broke after about 3 years of use. While it worked very well for 3 years, the way it broke was kind of concerning for my use case, since the Clip is often used hanging on the outside and not inside a pocket or bag. YMMV.

What's your everyday (or not-so-everyday) carry?
Also, let us know: who would like to see a ladies' edition of "What's In My Bag"??

Nice to see someone not carrying an IPhone. And I like the basic watches as well.

My everyday carry is not minimalistic, but it is handy.

Front right pocket: Phone, cardholder wallet, and earbuds in the little jeans pocket.
Front left pocket: Keys + mini Swiss Army knife, pen, and an A6 sized pocket notebook.
Back right pocket: A mini first aid kit.
Watch: Casio F91W.

This was interesting. I've never seen a men's what's in my bag! I'm going to go check out those key organisers now. They look much better than my standard old keyring. Thanks :)

Glad to see an honest urban EDC. And you were also honest about WAH (work at home). 👍🏻

My urban edc fits inside a Zpacks wallet or passport pouch (ultralight Dyneema Composite Fabric), which fits inside a jean or shorts pocket. But usually carry the pouch inside a sling (COB X POD or Aer city sling V2).

This 👇🏻is what I carry, if that helps enhance your edc. And I am conscious of not increasing weight on my edc, so that I carry it daily, plus have the right tools/system, for my use case.

Jean/Shorts Pockets - Victorinox compact (switched the tooth pick for a fire steel from tortoise gear), RovyVon A8x flashlight (both multi tool & flashlight rides on pocket clips), Pepper gel with marker (instead of spray, so that I don’t have to judge wind direction), bandanna & nite ize nano steel carabiner on a pocket clip, housing key smart pro, mini cash can from sunshine & a victorinox midnite manager (midnite manager‘s 0/1 driver, compensates for the Philips capabilities missing in the compact).

Zpacks pouch - Hand / screen wipes, thin optics emergency reading glass or contacts, boo boo kit, anker 10, 000 mAh small power bank, lever gear cable kit, fisher bullet space pen, 2”x3” (wallet size) rite in rain, 2 feet duct tape, small Bic lighter, nano super glue, micro cordage, pill stash, 2 small zip ties & nano Tide stick. 1 large zip tie (in the event, I need to help restrain an unruly character), & an Apple air tag goes into the sling too. The above takes care of most eventualities in an urban environment for me. I carry a seperate tech kit whilst traveling to work (includes a maxpedition barnacle pouch that can stand upright on the train tray’s small space) & a separate hiking kit, when I am in the woods. These kits are dead investments or write offs, meaning, I don’t shift items between kits. Only replenish them.

I could relate with not liking to have stuff on your packets. I use a pouch i got from Mexico but I liked that you can fit your bottle in there. Thanks for the keys tip! This is my favorite channel 🙏🏼👍🏼

Great video as usual!! Always love how your videos reiterate the idea of being minimalist and sustainable even amidst all the crazy sales :') I would be really interested in a video about sustainable shopping in Singapore (clothes, groceries etc) if you guys ever do one! :)

Like you, work from home all week. I'm usually out each day. It's card wallet, keys, phone, pen, small notebook. (Not keen on watches - I have a Seiko 5 with a NATO strap if I'm hiking without my phone.). In the UK the climate means most of the year they can be carried in jacket pockets. In the few weeks of summer when it's uncomfortable, I wear a very light weight armless fishing vest.

I would love some insight into how you manage your money… do you operate a minimalist banking setup? 👀

I wld love to see a video abt thoughtworthy’s history (esp with regards to its inception, the cost and risks involved when starting out and how thoughtworthy came to be able to support both of you financially)

I hear you about the water bottle. Absolutely essential for me too because I guzzle water like a camel. Overall my quick EDC is almost the same as yours (even the sling bag looks similar) with the addition of a small moisturizer (for my eczema) and a tiny umbrella (because Singapore).

I tend to just use pockets and I carry phone, mask, foldable tote bag, keys and wallet. I sometimes use a small back in summer when not wearing a coat but I am trying to only buy clothes with pockets going forward. Surprising harder than I thought it would be, especially when thrift shopping.

it's funny because i have the same orbitkey (black edition), same wallet (Herschel Charlie in black leather) and same headphones... however i leave the Fiil at home because i drop them sometimes, i prefer the oppo enco w51 that i find more stable in my ears and have noise reduction. Great video!

If you ever made a vlog I would love to watch that! To see how you live a work-life and/or weekend life from a minimalist POV (compared to most other Singaporeans). Great video btw, was really interesting as I've never seen a male's what's in my bag before!
