Quick note. Your xbox one has 7.1 Dolby over optical or HDMI With digital encoder, You must disable this on the xbox one sound settings if you want to use the onboard Dolby on the headset. If you dont use the button on the headset to enable 7.1 virtual surround, you can Enable the XBOX Ones own Dolby ATMOS, Or sonic for windows. I do know if you dont disable one or the other and have them both on you get a very echoed delay sound and its not good. Like the reviewer describes I can confirm though that when set up in Uncompressed stereo and you use the Dolby surround on the base. The audio is on par with say the Astros dolby surround sound and is very good. So if having issues with terrible sound please check your XBOX Audio settings and make sure Optical out is on Stereo uncompressed. If intending to use the Base station surround feature :) Hope this helps. Took me a while to figure out my teething issues but works stellar now :)

I use mine mainly for COD and battlefield type games and I can't fault them. There is no distortion and you hear sound coming from everywhere with deep rich bass on explosions. I've tried quite a few brands and these are the best by a long way plus long battery time. I love them

Just in case anyone is wondering, the headset had a big price drop and is now around 125 bucks for the Xbox version. Even though the mic quality isn’t top notch, the sound quality and comfort is definitely worth it for a wireless headset. Would recommend for a Christmas gift.
