Im not sure if you will see this but I have this head deck, with two fifteens (American Bass Elite setup with amp). I just recently installed a 4 channel amp type r and have a type r setup (speakers). When I turn the bass all the way up I get like a warbling sound at higher volumes, but when I turn the bass off the sound is crystal clear even all the way up. I’m not sure if this could be the head units rcas, because I do get a thump when I do turn off my subs or switch from different sources.

Do you recomend sony dsx-gs80 or kenwood excelon kdc-x705? The 175bt has become very expensive

Has anybody installed multiple amps with the 172 as it has 3 rca inputs, sub, front, and rear....I used the Crutchfield quick adapter...Already have a powered sub to the sub rca on headset, curious if I do another amp to the rear rca on the head unit if I still have to splice in for the speakers

Just the video I was looking for. I installed the BT-175 yesterday, in my 1972 Nova. I couldn't figure out how to get to the crossover and EQ settings.

On a different note. Before the bt-175 was installed, I was using a custom auto sound Bluetooth receiver with Focal 6×9 rear and 2- Focal 3 1/2" in the dash. It sounded like the music was coming out of a metal trashcan. This is my second 72 Nova and my first one sounded great with a pioneer CD player and 2 Kenwood 6×9's in the back deck.

I thought putting a bazooka powered subwoofer in my current Nova would fix the sound quality, it didn't. So I wired up the Alpine unit and it still sounds crappy. I have speaker baffles installed on front and rear speakers, with a full interior and sound deadening installed on the carpet. I hope the crossover settings in the Alpine will fix the sound. If it doesn't, then it has to be the Focal speakers just sound crappy. Any input is appreciated. Thanks for posting the video 👍🏻

Hello, very good review. I have this unit in my car and when I plug my Ipad into the usb port to play music on the Ipad my volume buttons on the Ipad no longer do anything when I press them, the only way to adjust the volume is from the Alpine receiver, is there a setting that I'm missing? I bought a Saitechi R2 bluetooth remote control and mounted it on my steering wheel to control the Ipads volume and change songs but the volume wont work while plugged into the Alpines usb port, it works fine when I unplug it but not while its plugged in, strange stuff. I saw in the video you had what looked like an Iphone but I'm not sure it was one. Thanks for any help and keep up the good work.

Great video, I came from part 1. I have a question, does this unit work with alpine’s tuneit app?

Which Alpine amps do you recommend for the subs (I'm planning on using dual 10's) and for the front/rears?

Also when scanning the tuners TINY buttons carefully with the tips of your fingernails while trying not to wreck in the process it will skip past 100 mph the station you want if it does not come in crystal clear so your screwed if you want that station. Hey guys I'm just trying to warn you so you know the cold hard facts so you can keep your cold hard cash

If you want the clock on you get penalized and can't see what the hell station your on which sucks but their real proud to show you are on FM1. I bought this based on part 1 video and I go into more depth. This is harder than hell to use. Had it for 4 months and its still a b--ch. Most annoying thing is being penalized for having clock on and not seeing radio station and seeing FM1 all the dam time. Should have kept my much simple old Kenwood in
