An engine I am rebuilding has a bolt that goes through a coolant passageway, and the GM recommends using an RTV gasket maker to ensure that this bolt properly seals. I am assuming no threadlocker should be used in addition to that, but I was curious what you guys think.

Don't forget your helmet and fire suit. Also use caution tape around the work area. If your skills are a little shaky, you might want to use crime scene tape.

The blue thread lock I just bought seems really watery even after I shook it up. It looks nowhere near as thick as the blue in this video.

is there a thread sealant that activates more like glue, so that i can position my brass fittings in the direction required, which a lot of the time means they are not fully tightened?
It is said in this video that these thread-lockers are activated when tightened down, so that no air is present (anaerobic), so i assume that's not what i am looking for?

I don't understand the Surface Prep activator. You say at 1:02 that the parts have to be assembled "before the activator cures". What if the parts are difficult to assemble? For the High Temperature Sleeve Retainer it says the part can be heated for assembly, but the activator says max temp 120. It's not making sense. What if I clean the parts with acetone?
