Nike's BIG Mistake: Air Max 1 '86 Big Bubble Review and On-Feet

Yo Yo Yo, Hey guys what shopping, I am Jacques Slade and today we are taking a closer look at Nike’s next drop for Air Max Day. If you aren’t familiar with Air Max day, it is basically a sneaker holiday that Nike made up and we all just kinda go along with it. Regardless of how you feel about that, people are definitely in their feelings about this, the Air Max 1 Big Bubble. The issue is something I didn;t expect, but it is one I can see why people are passionate about it. Like with most things, we have a level of expectation when it comes to the product we get from Nike and this throws a wrench into the whole program. To get the full story, we have to go back a little bit.

I can’t believe how much talk there is about these looking “wrong.” I remember when my friend got pair of these back in junior high and my mind was BLOWN. I couldn’t be happier to see them again in their original form, and would love to get my hands on a pair (but I’m not holding my breath).

My first Air Max 1 OG and first shoe im doubling up on. I’ve always wanted one especially the 2017 but man am I glad i got these instead. I’ve always wondered why some of the vintage ads the bubble was bigger but I never looked into it. This is how it was always supposed to be.

For me, the current air max 1’s are the WRONG pair. Bubble feels too small.

THIS is the correct one, THIS is the one I see as the air max 1, THIS is the version that was in the ads, so THIS is the TRUE air max 1

I love the AirMax 90 and the Infrared color way was the shoe that started my love for Sneakers back in the day so I will always be partial to the AirMax lineup so seeing firsthand what Tinker envisioned is sweet. I would love to see if Nike can do this with other silhouettes especially Jordan Brand. Tinker will always be a legend and if Nike can pay more homage to the legend of Tinker Hatfield it would bring more story telling to sneaker culture.
