I just got to listen the "Keeravani thanam "by L.Shenkar. Was mesmerized how fast and accurate he plays the violin.

L. Shankar, Subramanian and Vaidyanathan lived down the street near Munda Kanni amman Koil in Mylapore. When my friends and I were palying marbles and Gilli Thandu, they were practicing. What can I say, now they are great maestros. Amazing performance with Rajesh's veena. Shankar seems to be wearing a wig.

For too long Shankar/Shenkar was mostly singing, and barely playing any violin.
It is so magnificent to see and hear him playing that incredible double neck, ten string violin 🎻 again!

I have loved and been devoted to Shankarji's music 🎶 for decades.
I have been blessed to see him perform three times, accompanied by the one and only Zakir Hussain on tabla.
In Marin County at an outdoor Amphitheater at a seminary. At the Hearst Hall in S.F., incredible acoustics.
And at the intimate Julia Morgan Theater in Berkeley CA.
Always transformative and inspiring ✨ transcendent and being awe struck.
