I once ate at a McDonalds owned and staffed 100% by Black people. In the deep south, Mississippi, I once was an overnight guest in a hotel part of a national chain. It was like the McDonalds, all Black managed and run. I will never knowingly repeat the experience. Headquarters of the national hotel chain submitted a groveling apology and gave expensive freebies following our complaints.

They (Portuguese/ Spanish Europeans) referred to them as negro, moor, black. Black is a recent slave master term...created here in America.

why is it that every other culture, race and people refer to themselves as from their ancestral/ spiritual homeland (Italian, Greek, Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Norwegian, Swedish, Kemet, Nubian, Ethiopian, Malian, etc.). However, we have so much difficulty referring to ourselves as African (African-American).
