Knowledge without wisdom is meaningless.

Acquiring knowledge is good. But lacking understanding is deadly.

I love that last comment. So true. The more I learn the more I realize how much I don’t know. Helps me to be humble.

Well said Alisa. We need to devour the word of God and humbly share it's truth. Glory to God.

This is excellent! Current secular wisdom holds that feelings are what matter most. The results of that mentality speak for themselves. Thank you for this insightful commentary.

People love "experts" just not experts about what really matters.

I frequently come in contact with Christians who do not want to hear or have any intellectual conversations about faith and the bible. I find this is unhealthy because they can be swayed to believe any wind of doctrine that is appealing to the ears. And the teachers teaching them convince them that having an intellectual faith is a bad thing. Everything becomes hyper spiritualized and emotionally charged with next to no discernment or consideration for biblical teaching and doctrine.

Seek knowledge, don’t get big headed.

That thing in the background is awesome looking. Looks like something from the Twilight in Zelda Twilight Princess.

Knowledge is a gift in 1 Cor 12:1-11 and Exodus 31:3. still trying to figure out my gifts at my age so I couldn't help but watch this. but I think what she said at beginning that everything (my addition) goes back to where your heart is, is right.

This history lesson is probably one of the major tragedies of the church. The very institutions of knowledge we created are now overrun by people who fail to acknowledge God and use their “knowledge” to sin against him while acting as though they were the founders. The same is true of the Nordic countries. They owe their thriving lifestyle to Lutheranism but few acknowledge that.

Scripture says in Proverbs- " in all your getting, get understanding" Theres godly knowledge/wisdom and there's worldly wisdom/knowledge.

Wow!! That was good Alisa. I came out of the hyper charismatic world a few years ago and I dealt with all of that there. I was working on my PhD and was told that I should be more concerned with spiritual matters. My classroom is my mission field and I need to learn as much about the Bible so I can be prepared "in season and out of season." Good job!!! The brain is not evil. 🧠🧠🧠

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Galatians 1:6
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

2 Thessalonians 1:8
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 Peter
Chapter 1

5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

One thing is for certain we need knowledge if we don't have knowledge we wont know the truth and then after that we will get ourselves deceived and thrown right out of the narrow path and put in bondage to sin and we will not be able to repent of it at all with that being done God calls us to freedom to save us from our sins He doesn't call us to be left in sin and be destroyed by it. Understanding is much needed as well knowing the truth of what is written in Psalms 49:20 Psalms 49:20
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. Too much sin is bad for us.
