Add a Total Row to Excel Tables With 1 Click #shorts

Показать описание
Adding a Total Row to a filtered Excel table just takes 1 click! If you want the AVERAGE or COUNT instead, you make a selection from the drop-down list. No need to write your formulas. You can also add a function from the total row drop-down like Sum, Average, Count, Max, Min, etc.

The total row automatically applies the SUBTOTAL function which will only display the totals for any visible cells. So, if you filter out rows, the values from those cells will automatically be removed from the total row.

As always, you save my day! Your method reminds me of the plastic bags, which we use to cover the box area inside, before we put new articles that we produce in my bicycle workshop, where I work. And they don't need any clamps or whatever else to pass in there.

As an alternative method, we can return dynamic mathematical results using the LET and Subtotal functions. Namely;
Using Data Validation of the math function whose result we want in Cell B14
(Data Validation:
$B$14= {"Sum=", "Maximum=", "Minimum=", "Average="})
=LET(
Range;C2:C13;
Value;$B$14;
Sum;"Sum=";
Max;"Maximum=";
Min;"Minimum=";
Average;"Average=";
IFS(Value=Sum; SUBTOTAL(109;Range);
Value=Max; SUBTOTAL(104;Range);
Value=Min; SUBTOTAL(105;Range);
Value=Average; SUBTOTAL(101;Range)))

We can find the sum, maximum and minimum, average or similar operation results by using the LET function.

People should be aware the Total row's SUBTOTAL function uses 109 as the 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻_𝗻𝘂𝗺, which means hidden rows will NOT be included in the calculation. 9 does the opposite.

I swear your videos are about to get me promoted at work...I did have a question though. I have a pivot table pulled from an external source (that I don't have access to). Whenever I make a table and a dashboard I always get the "grand total" row at the bottom and it is messing with my "ranker" row. Is there a way to hide (not remove because I don't have access to the original data files) that row from my pivot table/dashboard? THANK YOU!

Hi, can you please make a video explaining the charts, formatting etc from the icon at the bottom @0:24 when you paste sth? Thnx

When you change the dropdown selection from 'Total' to 'Average', it displays Average value; however the row still display it as 'Total'!

I want to move "The" to the end of a title in multiple cells.
For example;
Change The Beatles to Beatles, The
Change The Shining to Shining, The

I have this formula; =IF(LEFT(A1, 4)="The ", MID(A1, 5, 99)&", The", A1)
Is this correct?
More importantly, how would I apply it to existing data in multiple cells?

Thank you

Can I add data into the table as well? If so how do I paste the additional data?

Alternatively, we can also use the formula "Subtotal" and we shall get totals as per filter used. 😀✅
