Why has Africa remained stuck in poverty for so long?

The British left major infrastructure in Sierra Leone giving them independence in 1964, notably the railway system. One of its recent Presidents sold the tracks for scrap.

100% true. I was actually taught this in high school 55years ago over and over I heard it. Yep, Poverty.
Send money and the corrupt get it, sadly, very few exceptions.

For the first time I hear the correct reason why Africa does not develop.
I have been saying this for decades.
I grew up in Tanzania and saw the corruption creep in on the day they became independent.

My brother worked for the Peace Corp in Gambia. He ran Africa BeeCause. He was teaching them to raise bees and sell the honey for their villages. Every time aid would come in the head person would steal the funds and leave. Every, single, time! A new African manager would come in, and when relief came he would steal the money and leave.

Very True. I absolutely love the genuine resilience, kindness, and humor that I've experienced in the presence of Africans. Vile corruption pollutes the African continent, an evil that is continually victimizing all that is good in Africa.

The fastest growth of Christianity in modern history is in Africa. When the governments fall, the church will support the people with structure and authority on faith and morals. This empowers the people from within to revolutionize their society.

It's like this in a lot of countries that recieve charitable aid. I've seen it in Africa, Guatemala, the Philippines, heck even here in the US. There is a whole charity industrial complex that blew my mind.

Also, the rich Africans leave the continent to do most of what they want. Little to no money goes back into the continent.
