I am a young African who aspired to join politics some two years back. What I observed and learned was disheartening. I had to admit to myself that for some odd reason, African societies lack basic value systems that make good leaders. African societies make it possible, by both lack and design, that bad leadership proliferates more than good one. Basically African leaders are a sample of its own society, inept, corrupt and lacking basic vision for collective good.

Let me just correct you on something. Its not that Ramaphosa have "struggled to fix" or "failed to correct". Ramaphosa has done nothing. In order to "struggle and fail", one has to make an effort. He hasnt. If anything, he doubles down on all the policies that got us in this mess in the first place.

Also, the rail network didnt just breakdown to a lack of maintenance. Rail infrastructure is actively being stolen and carried away, and the government does nothing about it.

You might also want to mention that one of South Africa's provinces - the Western Cape is seeking independence. This is also the Democratic Alliance's largest voting block.
