Total Ban on Chinese Phones? Countless Chinese-Owned Devices Suddenly Turn into Bricks

In the video, a user had just bought a Chinese-made Redmi K30 Pro phone, but shortly after using it, the phone began switching screens on its own. Even after the user manually forced the apps to close, the phone would reopen them. It looked extremely unsettling.
Another user experienced a similar issue. His Chinese made phone seemed to be controlled by someone else, and he recorded the whole event and uploaded it online.
Besides privacy and safety concerns like overheating or even explosions, there’s another problem. Some users who traveled abroad found that their Chinese-made phones suddenly stopped working.

If this can happen to a Chinese made phone, imagine what will happen when you have a Chinese made car.

Haha, 3g was shut off and chinese people thought they had 5g phones.

China uses different 4G and 5G bands compared to other countries including Australia. So buying cheaper Chinese phones meant for the China market is very unwise for use overseas because of the poor network compatibility. And thats not even going into the issue of Chinese bloatware/spyware.

Well, what do you expect when you buy Chinese? And of course, they blame Australia. If not them, they blame Japan or America.

Complaining about restrictions that they themselves use against other countries is wild

Why Will Australia Give Way To JUST 7, 300 Petitioners, If It Will Cost Aussie Companies Millions Of AUS. Insane Isn't It!!!

The funny thing about 5G is that 99% of people would be fine staying on 4G and not see a difference. But then again the vast majority of people also don't need a brand new phone and would be fine with a way older model for the usage they make of

Isn't awesome how the phone in China has really everything on it? Cash apps, ID, everything. Gotta love when it all just vanishes.

They still work if they are made specifically for Australia. It's totally because of the 3G shutdown, not some conspiracy.

Turning a phone into a "brick" is a specific term. Loosing cell service is not a "bricked" phone. Using bricked you are trying to imply the phone is totally broken and can't be fixed.

With the 3g shutdown in Australia, a phone is required to support emergency calling using volte a phone supporting 4g or 5g dose not mean it supports volte for emergency calling that is one of the main reason a lot of phone are not working. But another issue has been the australian phone providers way of determining if a phone supports volte for emergencies calls, or the device has volte enabled or locked by international phone provider. The Australian phone providers have made list of compatible devices but that list is not sufficient enough and not the same for each provider.

Honestly. I have no sympathy. If you are so treacherous you live in the west and would buy a chinese phone. Who cares?

That just sounds crazy; 5G being dependent on 3G. So the new needs the old in order to function/work? Weird, imo. But then again I know absolutely nothing about cellphone technology. 😀
One thing left out in how China portrays itself, "still developing." 3:26 Which is complete and utter bullshite. A "developing" nation wouldn't have a mature space program putting rovers on Mars/moon. A developing nation wouldn't have a huge defense program like nuclear subs, fighter jets, etc. My point ... I can't believe China still gets that status when the whole world knows differently.

No, the phones are not controlled by themself, they just have broken screens.

Maybe instead of petitioning the AUSSIE govt. to keep the old system functional they should start waving their Chinese passports in peoples' faces and demanding that their phones work. That's what they do in other countries when they don't get their way.
