Same as Nathan, as a Chinese living outside of China (Nathan as a American living in China), it’s much easier to have a clearer full picture. I’ve read a lot of reports from Ray Dalio, it’s very clear Trump is desperate to solve the Debt issue US has and his plans didn’t work.
Most of the West still see China as it was 8 years ago, thinking China only produce 2 dollar shops cheap toys.
China still has its problem to solve, but if US don’t start focusing on fixing itself but trying to gain from hurting others, like what US did to Japan in late 80s, US will only go down faster.

This tariff hurts America much more than China. Inflation will shift more middle incomers to low incomers who will resort more and more to $0 purchase. Shops may choose to close when raising the prices doesn't help. Civil unrest ensues.
